MA Education: Child development; Learning; Teaching and assessment (1998)

What kind of experience do you have?
22 years teaching as a secondary teacher. The most important aspect of my experience is having learned, through working with other teachers and educationalists who were interested in teaching, how children learn best, particularly in maths education where I was fortunate to come across some very exciting and interesting approaches to teaching from Cambridge University, Kings college and the government 'standard site'.

These are particularly useful for those children who might have normally just missed getting a C grade in maths or science. These approaches however, work best when one starts early. For year 11 students and most year 10 it is best to stick to the way they have been working.

I have taught KS3, KS4 and KS5 science for 8 years KS3 and KS4 maths for 8 years A head of Maths

Collaberated with Cambridge University teaching children systematic working and generalizing in mathematics.
Implemented the Kings College cognitive acceleration programs for both maths and science into school teaching programmes.

I am also very experienced in social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, with 5 years teaching in an adolescent psychiatric unit and 3 years in a boys school for emotional difficulties. Coaching experience and qualification
