Additional Info: (Background) I graduated from Capo Valley H.S. in 2002, was a 4-year varsity level athlete, and was the valedictorian of my class. I graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 2006 (where I was a scholarship athlete) and am currently working toward a masters degree in Computer Science. I received perfect scores on the SAT II advanced math subject test and a perfect score on the math section of the GRE.

(Experience/Specialties) I have tutored math subjects for roughly ten years but mainly specialize in the following: algebra I, algebra II (Trigonometry), geometry, and precalculus (i.e. "math analysis"). I also do test prep for the GRE and SAT's (math only) as well as introductory computer programming (Java).

(Style) I am a patient and passionate tutor and ask only that the student be ready and willing to learn. My approach, as we uncover new concepts, is to explain the material conceptually and with an example(s), and then allow the student to demonstrate his/her understanding on a specific problem. I strongly encourage questions and am happy to explain things in a variety of ways.

(Requests) It is my preference to have the parents' involvement and support. Tutoring is not a replacement for a student's personal studying time. I like to see homework completed ahead of time and with problems marked where help is needed.

(Miscellaneous) After I graduated from Cal, I played professional baseball for the Cincinnati Reds as a pitcher after being drafted in the 9th round. I left the minor leagues after being offered a job at Google. While working there I developed an interest and appreciation for computing power and thus began my pursuit of a graduate degree in Computer Science.
Fees: $ 40.00 Dollars Per Hour
I take check or cash and prefer to be paid at the time of each session. I do discounts for group sessions: two to three students at a time for $30/hr per student, four or more for $25/hr per student.
Subjects: Computing, Maths
