Additional Info: I graduated first class in Economics, and I am writing my dissertation for my Finance master. My past academic achievement includes AA in Accounting and Maths. I got some Maths Challenge awards at my hand; however, believe it or not I am not a Mathematics Solving Robot.

Teaching Experience:

I usually helps to explain my friends the lecture material, workshop exercises or homework whenever they need assistants and one of my friends suggested me to earn some extra cash by doing what I am good at : studying and teaching.
My first paid tutoring experience was as a self-employed tutor in 2009, my first customers were my friends’ siblings and good words spread out, they recommended me to their relatives and friends.

Then I decided to bring my teaching out to the society, when during my final year I joind the my University volunteer project “Mentoring Ambassador scheme”. I was allocated to different classes, from Year 7 to Year 13, where I may need to play with them, assist their studying (by answering millions types of questions) or provide support to teachers. It was really fun time indeed.

Approach to Tutoring:

I prefer one-to-one mentoring, as it has proved to be much more efficient and convenient, especially with Maths question containing lots of formulas or graphs. Students can choose the learning location , whether it is school, public library or home-tutor (provided their parents are at home).
For true learning, I encourage students to do as much of the homework themselves as they possibly can and I try to provide homework help to smooth over the rough areas – I would act more like a coach than a tutor. If the student simply watches me solve problem after problem, the student is not really learning that way. The student needs to learn to solve the problems on their own. It is important to provoke their interest in learning, and my experience proves that I got the knack of doing so.
