Additional Info:	I have taught English at school for nearly 30 years and worked as a tutor with all ages of students from Elementary and Middle School grade levels all the way up to college students and adults. I tutored kids who were lagging behind the rest of the class at school as well as advanced language learners and helped them get ready for regional language contests. One of my achievements I believe is my excellent work with high school graduates to prepare for centralized testing in Belarus. It’s kind of ACT/SSAT in US High Schools. My students scored 70+ from 100. But the experience I value most is when my students who were performing about average gradually integrated into the rest of the class. Once families became comfortable with me, I started getting requests to tutor other students that were having difficulty getting what they need out of the classroom. My approach to tutoring is that all students are capable of learning. Kids often benefit from a fresh perspective and it is my job to make them more confident again. I try to explain to the students that once the rules are understood it becomes simple to get to the final result. To start my tutoring processing, I try to identify what is needed to improve the defiance of the student. Then I try to see what method works best for the student. Thirdly, I go over the rules for the subject and write those down for the student to use as a guide to solve problems. And fourthly, we work at similar exercises of my own or from the book. I also provide references to material that can help advance the student knowledge. I believe in repetition, using new words or rules in a language environment, connected with the student’s personal experience or attitude, which enables a student to memorize the material better and inspires his interest to learning.
