Additional Info:	I'm a 2010 graduate from Ball State University (a national top-10 teacher education college rated #1 in Indiana)with a BS in Special Education-Mild Interventions. I was a member of my college's honors society, and recieved distinguished evaluations in my field experiences ranging from K-12th grade. I was also a 2005graduate of Saint Joseph's High School. I am offering tutoring for Summer 2011 and the 2011-2012 school year. I am also offering 10-week custom designed programs in Elementary, Middle, and High School Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Statistics, Discreet Mathematics, Reading Comprehension, and Writing (including Essays depending on level). These programs are based on the same Indiana Academic Standards that your child's cirriculum is planned with. The programs are individually created for each student, but are based on the same conceptual framework and standards that classroom teachers use to develop their lessons for each subject. Depending on the progress of the student, your child could potentially cover all of the main concepts of the upcoming year. Then when your student begins school in the fall, they will be familiar with the subject matter being taught, and therefore much more likely to succeed in the classroom! You may think that 10 weeks to cover the basics of a year's cirriculum is ambitious, and it is. Classroom teachers are slowed down by large class sizes, chronic behavior problems, and the need for lots of personal attention, especially in math and writing. This program is 1-on-1, no distractions, 100% complete personal attention. In a class of 30, your child may only be getting 1-2 minutes of personal attention per hour. With that kind of treatment, it is no suprise there are American schools that are failing. In my program, your student will work hard. Your student will have to put in significant effort every day, even if we do not meet. It is through this intense training that your child will make such remarkable progress. Another positive aspect of the program is the parental involvement. A tentative schedule with corresponding topics and state standards will be explained to the parents, and final approval of the program will also be by the parents. This is to ensure that I am helping your student the best I can. After designing the program, parents will be given progress reports on a weekly basis. Parents are welcome to observe sessions at any time, and questions or input is always welcome. Sessions will meet twice a week for one hour. Students will be given home exercises to complete on non-lesson days. The homework is tailored to be either a preview, review, or practice exercise, depending on the schedule.
